The Colbert Report...

If Steve Colbert can maintain the level of awesome that he presented in the debut of The Colbert Report, Jon Stewart's going to get a run for his money.

I mean, I could watch the gravitas-off for hours on end, it was amazing. Well done, Steve.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel: 3 papers down, 2 midterms, a paper, a column and a magazine left.

Also, it seems lightning has struck. Welcome back, Pat.

  • You know, I didn't even notice the "unless lightning strikes" comment in your previous post until now.

  • Colbert was amazing! At times I thought I was watching Bill O'Reiley, then Stone Phillips (not the guest) then Scarborough. It was a great introduction, let's hope he can keep it up

  • I'm still having doubts about how this will continue... Jon Stewart just summarizes things so well in 30 mins. Sometime after the show it's almost like what did he not cover. The premiere was brillance at work though, hope he can keep it up.

I'm glad i'm not alone in thinking i was watching oreilly at times...

  • He did a great job of ape-ing O'reiley's bullet point side bar.

And Colbert, the character that is his TV personality, is a satire and an amalgamation of all the talking head punditainers out there. Somehow he just understands their essence can seamlessly, simultaneously possess and make fun of it. It's pure genius.

  • I don't know if the show will last, but Steven Colbert is severely awesome. I would have sex with him for like 3 months. He can make me laugh so hard I fall off the couch.
